Saturday

Yesterday I spent half the day with my sister, mom and Gavin! We ate lunch at Newks, it was soooo good and prolly one of my new fave places to eat! And We went shopping at the Mall and Michaels. My mom got Gavin and Ethan some new clothes and me a few scrappy items. Including zip dry!! I LOVE IT! It's prolly one of the best scrappy adhesives ever! I think it will now be my adhesive of choice because it lasts way longer than any other adhesive I've had, therefore it saves me money! Awesome! Well this is the layout I made last night. While I made my layout Ethan used his new markers to color a picture of the farm. :) He likes our crafty time he said!! And when a good song comes on the radio we just look at each other and start doing our funky dance! fun times!

Friday Night Fun

Last night I finished my Summer of Scraplovin' Week 1 challenge layout. It took several redo's to get it the way I wanted! I also finished another layout done of Gavin. Ethan came and wanted 'craft time' with me too. :) Both thursday and friday night he spent some time in the scraproom coloring with me. :) Since he was using my Stampin' Up markers, I got him some of his own today. He likes coming in there, and tells me lots of stories and things about his life while we are in there. :) He wants me to make a layout of pictures of him and Maggie and have it titled "Best Friends Forever".....so that will be coming to a blog near you soon.

Thursday Thirteen (Early) 3rd Edition

Thirteen Things about living GREEN that I couldNever Do!
1. My car! I live way too far away from work and just about everything else to live without my gas guzzling, ozone layer depleting car!
2. Air Conditioning – It is way way way tooooooo hot in texas for no AC. I’d melt! I love it COLD!
3. Scrapbooking! – I know wasting all that paper is far from GREEN, but It’s my passion !! And it’s not really wasting cause I use up the scraps too and I KEEP the pages, so it’s not real wasteful. J
4. Bottled water – I hate tap water!! I will always drink bottled water. Granted I’m a tiny green because I fill up my jug each day and don’t waste lots of individual bottles.
5. Reading Books – is that not green because they are made from trees?? If so I’m NEVER gonna stop reading books!
6. Hair Dye – I don’t even REMEMBER my natural hair color lol. And whatever it is, it’s never coming back. J But luckily the guy I go to uses a veggie based hair dye so it’s semi-green!
7. Disposable diapers and wipes – I am NOT doing the cloth diaper thing ever! It’s gross and even more so because the daycare would never do it!
8. Germ X ! I don’t like germs!
9. Mr. Clean Wipes – sooooooooo easy to use and kills all the germs!
10. My long hot baths/showers – I loooooooooooove them! I try to save water elsewhere in place of wasted water in the shower!
11. Toilet paper! DUH!!
12. All organic food – I can’t find enough to make all of my food organic! And plus I have a tiny yard so no planting all my food to consume anytime soon.
13. Tampons!! Have you seen the options?! Yikes! http://Divacup.com! Not so sure I can go THAT green!

Grrrr.....

Yeah as if nausea and vomitting weren't bad enough.....today my back went out! For the first time ever! I was just barely starting to feel un-nauseated....and I reached to pick up Gavin and BAM! Shooting pain right in the middle of my back. I couldn't move or breath and just cried and cried while gasping for air. IT SUCKED! My husband had my mom come over and watch the boys so he could take me to the ER. They say strained thoracic muscle. Gave me a pain shot and some prescription muscle relaxer and pain meds. So now here I am stuck in pain on the couch and wanting to scrapbook! My husband was so super sweet and helpful today! I missed the Tile Class i was supposed to go to tonight too! :( I was really really looking forward to it! :( Guess I'll have to catch the next one. Well I'm off to dope up and hopefully get some sleep........

XOXO
Michelle

Yucky!

I feel so yucky today! :(. I went to work today and right after I got there I started throwing up. After three times and unrelieved nausea I said I'm going home! So I came home and took a 3 hour nap! Now I still feel really nauseaous but no idea why! Maybe it was all the late nights this weekend with the online crop mixed with unhealthy snack foods? Or maybe it was lunch at Jalapeno Tree yesterday? Whatever it is it sucks!! I need to get in there and scrap my layout for challenge one of the Summer of Scrap Lovin' but don't wanna throw up on it!!

My weekend.....

I love long weekends! Just that ONE extra day does so much for me! This weekend chris and ethan went to the farm thursday night and came home Saturday afternoon. In the meantime I was SUPER busy! I got off work thursday night and met my mom, stepdad, grandma, sister, and son at Olive Garden for my birthday dinner. LOVE Olive Garden! And then me and Gavin went home and after he went to bed I spent the whole evening till laaaaaaaaaate watching every recorded Days of Our Lives from the last like 3 months! lol. It was nice! :) I stayed up in bed for awhile reading too and didn't have to tick CHris off with the light being on! lol. Friday me and Gavin chilled all day and I watched more chick Tv, did some laundry, cleaned house a little, and rearranged my scrappy room yet again. We went to Shogun's for dinner with my dad. Gavin loved the fire and the part where the chef is tossing the knife things around. It was delish. It's been a long while since I had sushi....mmmmm eel.....mmmm rainbow rolls.....awwww it was nice. We came home and I watched a lifetime movie - The Tenth Circle. It's based on a book I've been wanting to read but now probably won't. It was an ok movie. Then I got a 2 page layout done.

I wanted to get all the photos I had for christmas on a 2 page layout. That was HARD work! I used a Basic Grey Christmas paper kit, Bazzill Green Cardstock, some plain white cardstock, Prima flowers, and lots of random alphas for the title! I especially love the first page which is the "Christmas" page. I outlined the empty spaces with white gel ink to define them a little better. Tell me what ya think!

On Saturday me and Gavin spent another day of playing together and ran up to the store to get me a new shirt with some of my birthday money. Then after Chris got home we took the boys to Nana and Grampas so they could babysit while we went out to dinner. Amanda, Casey, Michelle and Kris went with me and Chris to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. YUM! It took only ONE Red Sangria to get me tipsy lol. :) It was a blast! And THEN Michelle had the bright idea to go get dessert at Andy's. DELICIOUS! We sat out in front of Andy's eating our custards and talking....It's been a long while since we did that. Then us 2 michelles and the 2 K(Ch)ris's went to the adult store! LOL :) It was fun looking around and giggling ! We are nuts! Here are a few pictures.

Now today Chris let me sleep in! hehehe. :) Till almost 9! And I'm about to wash my hair then we are headed out to "window shop" at Sam's! And I need to look for a bookshelf to spend my birthday money on! For the scrapbook room of course! Ta Ta For Now!

Kids are Amazing....

Being a mom is awesome. Gavin does the cutest things and all I can do is giggle and tell him how much I LOVE HIM! If I look at him and give him a really sneaky looking smile, he will do it back. Tilting his head down and smiling like he is bashful. It's adorable!! He has the most wonderful laugh in the whole world. I do whatever I can to make him laugh all the time, like tickling him, dancing around acting goofy, or whatever strange thing makes him laugh that day. The other day I was making some funny squeaky noise with my mouth and Gavin thought it was hilarious. He laughed the deepest belly laughs over and over and over. Too bad I couldn't reach the camera :(. Today he was crawling towards the open bathroom door and I started saying "no no no"....so he starts giggling and crawling super fast to try to beat me to the bathroom. LOL. It was hilarious! He is a great son for sure!

Living Green.....

I'm working on it! I know for sure several things that I would never give up, but there is alot each of us could do to save our precious planet. I want my son to have things that seem to be fading away.... I've been reading alot on line and here are a few things I've found so far that I'm willing to TRY.....
  • Eco Friendly Laundry detergent - Trader Joe's, Ecover, or BioKleen. Choose powder over liquid to save water. Line dry clothes....(not sure I have the patience for that one!) Eventually purchase a more energy efficient dryer with a moisture sensor (they turn off when clothes are dry!) For each load of laundry you dry on a line you save 3.35 lbs of CO2 and 2.6 KwH.
  • Save water by turning off the faucet while brushing teeth and doing dishes. Turn off shower when shaving legs. Take bathes instead of showers, only using shower head for rinsing off and washing hair.
  • Use biodegradeable toothbrushes to avoid filling landfills with toxic plastic with frequently replaced toothbrushes!
  • RECYCLE!!!!!
  • More organic based beauty products. I'll TRY Burts Bee's lotions, moisturizers, toners, and I already love their chapstick. And Gavin uses Burts Bees Body Wash! I'll TRY their shampoo and conditioner for me too!
  • Unplug things you are not using. Everything still zaps energy when not in use if it is still plugged in. Key things to unplug are microwave and coffeemaker. Each of these will save 34 lbs of CO2 just by unplugging them when not in use!
  • Transportation - Ultimately I'll buy a Hybrid vehicle, but thats a ways away. I already try to drive the least amount I can get away with due to gas prices!
  • We've switched to Green Works house cleaners. I woulda tried the vineager thing but it stinks!!!
  • Can't do cloth diapers because the daycare would not do it and chris would hate it too!

I'll list any cool ideas I find as I find them!!

THursday 13 - Edition 1 (yes i'm new at it!!)

just in case you have no idea why i'm doing this... (i.e. you live under a rock.....)...thursdaythirteen.com.
Thirteen Things about Michelle Cooney's
I figure to get the hang of this 13'ing I'll start with places I want to travel to. So here goes......
Australia - I wanna see kangaroos and koala bears in the wild! And the scenery looks splendid!
Greece - It seems like such a mythical place. Would love to see the blue waters and just the beauty of the land and the sea.
Japan - So I can try REAL sushi! Plus I hear they have some AWESOME roller coasters there!
Sweden - I really don't know why but for YEARS (i'm talkin' since I was a teenager!) I've been seriously interested in going there. Maybe it's the wooden shoes.....
Tahiti - All the stunning pictures of seen of the little huts over the water and the hammocks hanging out on a limb over the clear blue water......oh yeah, gotta go there!
Italy --- Can you say PASTA!? And the whole country seems to just ooze a romantic vibe
Hawaii - beaches, waterfalls, beautiful flowers......what more could you ask for?
New York, New York - I guess for stupid typical tourist-y reasons
Ireland - I've read alot of books set in Ireland so it has alot of appeal to me. Not to mention my husband would just die to go! He says he is more irish than he knows he is. :)
Vermont/Conneticut - to see where my mom grew up and meet the parts of my family I've never even met!
Jamaica - seems like a very fun place! And their music is sweeeeeet
California - Yes I wanna go to San Fransisco to ride the trolley thingy and see where they make rice a roni! lol. And San Diego to the awesome zoo I hear about, to northern cali where I hear it's the most beautiful, and of course do the gay tourist-y thing in LA and Hollywood!
Bermuda - the triangle!.....it's got a mysterious allure for sure!
............till next week!!
